Brown Bear Bob Marshall Wilderness
Known as the flagship of the nation's wilderness fleet, the "Bob" is one of the largest and best-known wilderness areas in the country. Together with the Great Bear and Scapegoat wilderness areas, it forms a contiguous wildlands complex of more than 3 million acres that straddle the Continental Divide. Indian Reservations
Head DressMontana's Indian reservations are rich strongholds of Native American heritage. They are places where Indian culture can be experienced in sacred landscapes and at annual gatherings - where traditional dress is worn and rituals are performed as they have been for hundreds of years.  The Flathead Indian Reservation is home to the Confederated Salish and Kootenai tribes. The tribes are a combination of the Salish, the Pend d'Oreiles and the Kootenai. The reservation comprises of over 1.2 million acres.
The Blackfeet Indian Reservation is home to the Blackfeet tribe. Its 1.5 million acres are boarded on the North by Canada and on the West by Glacier National Park. Located just 45 minutes to 3 hours from Meadow Lake Resort.

Fish and DogThe Flathead and its forks host spawning runs of two natives, the colorful westslope cut-throat and the bull trout. The Kootenai offers wild rainbow trout fishing at its best. Located just 10 minutes from the Resort is Mountain Trails Ice Skating Center. This Olympic-sized, refrigerated, outdoor skating rink will fill the needs of anyone from the child skating for her/his first time, to the teen-age hockey buff, to the mature glider.  Amenities include lights, music and a Zamboni for professional ice grooming.

 

 

X-Country Skiers X-Country Skiing
When the snow falls, the golf course turns into miles of cross country skiing, just slip on your skis and head out your backdoor. There are many machine groomed and intermittently groomed trails available throughout Montana's Flathead Valley, located from 10 to 90 minutes from Meadow Lake Resort. To list a few:  Whitefish Mountain Resort Nordic Center - 10km impeccably groomed - novice to advanced - widths 12-14 feet - 20 minutes from the Resort

 Evening skiers will enjoy 3.8km of lighted trail - beginner to advanced - 10 minutes from the Resort
 Round Meadows - 8km varied terrain on Flathead National Forest plus 24km ungroomed trail - beginner to intermediate. Views of  Whitefish Mountain Range - 30 minutes from the resort
 Herron Park - 3 km beginner and 10 km intermediate groomed weekly when the snow permits - 30 minutes from the resort.
